Want even more ways to play? Side events are for you! Use your side event vouchers from your badge purchase, or sign up for events on site. 

Scheduled events happen at a specific time, often with limited seats available. On demand events fire up as soon as enough players are ready. A full side event breakdown will be available as we get closer to December, so follow on our email newsletter or check back for more updates.

Side event access at Regional Qualifier Houston is available for all badge tiers.

 

Format: Standard; Constructed Decks, Swiss pairings 

Frequency: Friday, December 5 Only 

Cost: $50 

Capacity: up to 256 players

Prizing: 

  • 1st Place: Round 1 Bye in Saturday’s Regional Qualifier Main Event and 48 Prize Wall tickets
  • X-1 record or better: 36 Prize Wall tickets
  • X-2 record: 24 Prize Wall tickets

The Regional Qualifier Trial runs exclusively on Friday, December 5. Bring your best constructed deck and battle it out—earn the top spot and you’ll start the Main Event on Saturday with a Round 1 Bye, giving you a head start on your path to the Championship

 

 

Format: Standard best of 3 matches, Single Elimination 

Frequency: On Demand (8-Player Pods) 

Cost: $15 

Prizing: 

  • 1st Place: 6 Prize Wall tickets
  • 2nd Place: 4 Prize Wall tickets
  • 3rd–4th Place: 2 Prize Wall tickets
  • 5th–8th Place: 1 Prize Wall ticket

These 8-player, on-demand events will be run using the Standard format. Matches are best-of-3, single-elimination, and each pod runs 3 rounds of play.

 

 

Format: Standard; Constructed Decks, Free-For-All 

Frequency: On Demand (Throughout the Weekend) 

Cost: $12

Prizing:

  • 1st Place: 2 Prize Wall tickets
  • 2nd Place: 1 Prize Wall ticket
  • Most Honorable Player: 1 Prize Wall ticket

These 4-player pods run all weekend long in a free-for-all format. Bring your own constructed deck, jump in with three other players, and battle it out for quick prizes and bragging rights.

 

 

Format: Standard; Constructed Decks, 6-Round Swiss 

Frequency: Once per Day (All 3 Days) 

Capacity: Up to 256 Players 

Prizing: 

  • 1st Place: 6 Prize Tickets 
  • 2nd Place: 4 Prize Tickets 
  • 3rd–4th Place: 2 Prize Tickets
  • 5th–8th Place: 1 Prize Ticket (Participation) 

This marquee Standard event runs once each day of the Regional Qualifier. Players bring their own constructed decks and compete in 6 rounds of Swiss play. With room for up to 256 players, this is your chance to test your skills in a larger field and fight for top prizes.

 

Format: Standard; Constructed Decks, 4 2-player teams

Frequency: On Demand (Throughout the Weekend) 

Cost: $10

Prizing:

  • 1st Place: 4 Prize Wall tickets
  • 2nd Place: 2 Prize Wall tickets

Everything is better with a friend! Create a team of 2 players and join the queue to battle against three other teams. Share the thrill of the victory together or the ignominy of defeat.
